“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.
This is sort of a double-promo entry today. First of all, one of the easiest ways to improve thankfulness is to increase serving and giving. We are trying to reach out to "the least of these" through the Operation Christmas Child. AND... to start getting people thinking about the Financial Peace University course this spring, here is Dave Ramsey talking about OCC!
Don't forget to bring your OCC boxes this Sunday!

These passages from Matthew 25 have made an indelible impression on my life from the very first day I studied them closely back in 1977. These scriptures have probably changed my behavior toward others more than most anything else I can think of. Not only was I blown away by the picture that God has painted for us here on how we should live I was also grieved in my heart by some of the opportunities I had missed to love others. We have a very powerful picture here of what it is like to have the love of Jesus flow through us by the power of His Holy Spirit. If you have ever asked - well, what exactly does that look like in everyday life... here it is. These passages will shatter your schedule! For those of us who find it important to stay on schedule and want to make sure that the top 3 items on our TO DO list are accomplished today these scriptures are a reminder form the Lord that it's nice to be organized but we are HIS! His schedule is our schedule. Don't miss the opportunities that God gives you today to let His love flow through. Be alert! Be ready to love someone today. I write this for myself and all those who don't like there schedules messed with. We have been bought with a price... we don't belong to us anymore. We belong to Him. And whatever we do for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of His, we do for Him. Thanks Carolyn! Great reminder today. I am on my way to take John Davis to the hospital to see his mom. Please keep her in prayer. I will be alert along the way on what God has for me to do today. John
Thank you so much for sharing that, John! i love that no matter what is on OUR "to-do" list, God has given us the exact right amount of time to accomplish what is on HIS "to-do" list and we nee dto be in communication with Him to find out what those things are! They are not always (or maybe not usually) what we think!
We love, love, love doing our shoeboxes! My kids usually can't quite get what can and cannot go into them, though. For instance: the last slice of last night's quiche can NOT go into the shoebox. Not that they suggested that or anything. (: I shop all year for these boxes and love putting them together every Christmas season.
